White Bread

  1. Combine warm water and yeast and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp salt. Set aside.
  2. Warm milk and butter in the microwave until butter just begins to melt (if too hot, it will kill the yeast)
  3. Combine milk mixture, sugar, salt, and 2 c flour. Beat for one minute.
  4. Add water/yeast mixture and 2 c more flour. Mix for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in 3-4 more c flour. Knead until smooth (about 10 minutes)
  6. Let rise one hour or until doubled.
  7. Shape into loaves. Let rise one hour or until doubled.
  8. Bake at 375° 35 minutes.
