Microwave Caramels

  1. Butter a 2-quart microwave bowl. Put butter in. Microwave 1-2 minutes on MEDIUM HIGH.
  2. Blend in sugar, corn syrup, condensed milk, and salt. Cover with Saran Wrap. Microwave 10 minutes on HIGH.
  3. Uncover. Stir well. Microwave 10-15 minutes on MEDIUM HIGH, testing for firm ball.
  4. Add vanilla. Pour into buttered 9x13" pan. Cool. Cut into squares. Wrap in squares of waxed paper.
