Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 1/4 cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Combine milk, water, and margarine in a saucepan. Heat until warm. Gradually add to dry ingredients. Beat two minutes at medium speed.
  3. Add eggs and 1/4 cup flour. Beat at high speed two minutes; scrape bowl occasionally.
  4. Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff dough. Turn out onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a 9-inch square. Cut squares in halves forming 18 triangles.
  6. Let rise in warm place, free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes.
  7. Fry in deep hot (400 degree) oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar or dip in glaze. Makes 36 doughnuts.
