Caramels (Stovetop)

Ingredients
- 1 c butter
- 1 c light corn syrup
- 2 1/4 c brown sugar
- 15 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- dash salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Melt butter in heavy 3 qt. saucepan.
- Add brown sugar and salt; stir till thoroughly combined.
- Stir in corn syrup, mix well.
- Gradually add condensed milk, stirring constantly.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until candy reaches firm ball stage, about 12-15 mins.
- Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
